17-Forward-86 is a Coalition that represents the diverse interests of thousands of stakeholders in Sullivan County, Orange County and beyond who understand that enhancing Route 17 is vital to the safety, quality of life and economic well-being of the Hudson Valley and Sullivan Catskills.

The Coalition has been actively advocating for more than seven years for the addition of a third travel lane in each direction on New York State Route 17, between Exits 103 (Monticello, Sullivan County) and 131 (Woodbury, Orange County).

We are grateful to our members, elected officials and representatives who have shared their time, insight and other support to make this critical project a reality.

We are now poised to move forward. We had a tremendous victory in securing $1 billion in the 2022-2023 New York State budget to upgrade and dramatically improve the safety and reliability of Route 17 in Orange and Sullivan counties. Learn more about what’s next.
